Change in Stone House Lodge rooming: Due to the small response, we
cancelled the Lodge and reserved large Apartment #1 (Biff, Bubbles
and kids, Ellie&Bob) and small Apartment #2. Jerry and Peggy(and
"Las Cruces" Bob) will be in apt.#2 (they just don't
know it yet). Two families of Parrotheads have cabins #1 and #2.
Also, due to smaller group and my frugal shopping expertise, the club
will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner Sat and breakfast Sunday. Looks
like folks mainly need to bring drinks is all. Since we are a bit spread
out - each cabin or apartment will have the responsibility of cooking
their breakfast (and doing their dishes) - Saturday night will be the
club spaghetti and 'fish we caught' dinner party at
apartments #1 and #2
Concerning
Saturday Lunch - Who cooks and where it is served - we can figure
that out later. Really look forward to seeing all the Parrotheads who will
attend next weekend.
Later

Parrot Head Summer Camping trip to Heron Lake in northern New Mexico. The
weekend of Friday August 25th - Sunday Aug 27th was discussed. The Stone House
Lodge has a website to see cabin, trailer and Lodge House availability.
phone: 588-7274
The Stone Lodge sleeps 20, has 3 bathrooms, living room, barbecue grills, pets
allowed etc...It overlooks El Vado Lake. It ainted cheap
though...$450/night, but we may be able to swing a "deal"...per
person it is only $23/night.
The Stone House resort has cabins, several trailers(sleeping 6-12 people), 2
apartments (sleep 4 or 8), restaurant, boat rentals, fishing guide
rentals, general store, RV Hook-ups, gasoline pumps and bathrooms/showers
that the camping folks can use.
Heron Lake is a beautiful, large, no-wake lake. El Vado Lake and Chama River
are very close by. Has a marina for launching sailboats, 3 boat
ramps, many camp sites, RV Hook-up sites and cement outhouse structures, some
of which have showers attached. Reservations and additional information
located here:
We were fishing last weekend at Heron...caught 10 big kokanee in one
day...also went swimming, saw an Osprey (fishing eagle), 2 deer (the buck was
a 10 pointer)... anyway lots of wildlife, fishing, sailing, windsurfing,
hiking and fun to be had.
We need to know who would be interested in renting the Stone Lodge with us so
reservations and plans can be made!!!!!
Let us know....Carolyn and Biff
